DEPRECIATION

Depreciation Schedule
  this section aims to:
  1. relate the total and average years in depreciation in the preparation of depreciation schedule; and
  2. construct the depreciation schedule.
Depreciation is the lost in value of physical assets through its use. The yearly deposits into the depreciation fund are called depreciation charges. The depreciation fund is the portions of a given amount at the end of its useful life or the difference between the original cost of the asset and the sum in the depreciation fund is called the book value of the asset. At the end of the year.
The gradual reduction of an asset's value. It is an expense, but because it is non-cash, it is often effectively a tax write-off; that is, a person or company usually may reduce his/her/its taxable income by the amount of the depreciation on the asset. Because there are many different ways to account depreciation, it often bears only a rough resemblance to the asset's useful life. This may further benefit the company as they may continue to use the asset tax-free after its value has technically depreciated to nothing.

Here's a simple eample i got from the internet.

Example: A copy machine is purchased for $3,217.89. The expected life is 4 years. Using double declining balance the depreciation would be calculated as follows:
factor = 2 * (1/4) = 0.50

BANK RECONCILIATION

WHAT IS BANK RECONCILIATION?  Bank Reconciliation is the process of bringing the bank's monthly report for each depositor showing deposits made, check written, cancelled checks, and service charges. Checkbook contains checks and check stubs. The checks are filled out by the depositors made, and of charges made by the bank. Reconcilliation statement putting an agreement the bank statement balance and the checkbook balance.

Here are some reasons why there is a bank reconciliation.
The differences in the balances may be due to:
1.Outstanding Checks These are checks issued by the depositor but have not yet been presented to the bank for payment.
2.Deposit in Transit. These are deposits made but late to be included in the monthly bank statement.
5.Cancelled checks. These are checks that have been paid by the bank.

This informations will help if you will open an account with check. Checks are important mostly for those businessman and companies. But what is checks for? Checks are for safety purposes of the account owner. Like for an example, if you are to buy a land that costs 1-2 Million and you don't want to carry it along the way because something might happen like robbery or hold-ups. For me, if I'm going to pay my tuition fee, my Dad will give me a check instead of the money also for my safety because I commute everyday when I go to school. I don't want to bring 20 thousands or more money with no guard or somebody who will protect me, it is a little bit scary to bring too much money. My Dad also use his checks for his business.  We owned a retailer for gas, oxygen, trading and general merchandise, if we will order or fill up my Dad pays the through checks and sometimes uses Post dated checks.

The picture above is one example of a check. My Dad said that every check almost cost 30 pesos so he said don't waste it. He also writes the amount written in every checks in the first page of the check book. It's for the balance the checkbook for the checking of Account. It looks like this:
This is to keep track of your checks.

THE WORD "MATH"

INSIDE MY HEAD WHEN IT COMES TO
MATHEMATICS.
This is my first time to write a blog about math, well actually my first time to write a blog, EVER. When it comes to numbers I usually get dizzy just the thought of it. Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing is the basics, I have learned this since grade school well I think since primary, I can't remember. Back when I was in 4th grade I used to add our telephone numbers with my classmate's numbers on my cute calculator, it's color PINK and miniature. :"> I enjoy playing numbers with the calculator thinking that I am a bank teller even though I don't know what I'm doing back then. Those days, full of imaginations but I realize that people have BIG ambitions back when they are still kids.

So about the topic, for you what comes to your mind when you hear or see the word "MATH"? I know, numbers, equations, solutions and even MONEY. (cha-ching!) Yes, the power of money especially to those in the Business Industry, math is really important to it. Back when I was in high school, I used to have questions in my mind for my teacher (but only on my mind) on why is he teaching us math? is it relevant to us, to our future? Am I going to use all this equations when I grow up but I don't have the guts to ask him so it is still going on my mind. For you, DOES MATH REALLY RELEVANT TO US? Well, imagine a world without math, you cannot get your income, the net profit, loss, the amount of something and etc. MATH IS IMPORTANT ADMIT IT

What is PROFIT? For me, CHA-CHING! MONEY BABY, it is the amount of by which the sales are greater than the cost of the goods sold and the operating expenses. WHAT IS OPERATING EXPENSES? Well, it is the expense incurred in carrying out an organization's or a business' day-to-day activities, but not directly associated with production. Operating expenses include such things as payroll, sales commissions, employee benefits and pension contributions, transportation and travel, amortization and depreciation, rent, repairs, and taxes. These expenses are usually subdivided into selling expenses and administrative and general expenses. WOW, I know it is a bit hard to understand right? But you'll going to understand it more when you really have your own business. And I know someday, I will build up my very own business.

Someday, i'll build up my dreams where I can have my very own business with related to Industrial Design of course. Math will help me organize my income and profit so that my soon to be business will not be bankrupt. That's MATH and I love it. That's all!
