INSIDE MY HEAD WHEN IT COMES TO MATHEMATICS. |
So about the topic, for you what comes to your mind when you hear or see the word "MATH"? I know, numbers, equations, solutions and even MONEY. (cha-ching!) Yes, the power of money especially to those in the Business Industry, math is really important to it. Back when I was in high school, I used to have questions in my mind for my teacher (but only on my mind) on why is he teaching us math? is it relevant to us, to our future? Am I going to use all this equations when I grow up but I don't have the guts to ask him so it is still going on my mind. For you, DOES MATH REALLY RELEVANT TO US? Well, imagine a world without math, you cannot get your income, the net profit, loss, the amount of something and etc. MATH IS IMPORTANT ADMIT IT.
What is PROFIT? For me, CHA-CHING! MONEY BABY, it is the amount of by which the sales are greater than the cost of the goods sold and the operating expenses. WHAT IS OPERATING EXPENSES? Well, it is the expense incurred in carrying out an organization's or a business' day-to-day activities, but not directly associated with production. Operating expenses include such things as payroll, sales commissions, employee benefits and pension contributions, transportation and travel, amortization and depreciation, rent, repairs, and taxes. These expenses are usually subdivided into selling expenses and administrative and general expenses. WOW, I know it is a bit hard to understand right? But you'll going to understand it more when you really have your own business. And I know someday, I will build up my very own business.
Someday, i'll build up my dreams where I can have my very own business with related to Industrial Design of course. Math will help me organize my income and profit so that my soon to be business will not be bankrupt. That's MATH and I love it. That's all!

I like your blog :) It also reminds me how i get dizzy in terms of problem solving, but we should get used to it right? in every problem there's a solution :) It really shows how Math is really important especially in terms of business.
ReplyDeleteAgree. Math always makes me dizzy. I like your post, very informative!
ReplyDeleteI like this blog, especially the part about math being dizzying. Shows a closer appeal to students like us.
ReplyDeleteIt's all about the money! haha.. I like the part when you relate math to our course, you will be confident on what you will have, do or be when you have graduated! :>
ReplyDeleteI remember thinking the same thing... what do we need all those mathematical equations for? Isn't knowing the basics enough? I guess the dizzying part of those lessons were meant for us to know and further understand our numbers. So when the time comes-whenever that is- we will know how to find the answers ourselves.
ReplyDeletei also remember that i also enjoyed playing with my calculator before. how i enjoyed computing some numbers using it. and when i entered my high school days, this thing help me in computing such a big numbers in my exams :).
ReplyDeleteI also felt the same way the "dizzying" part.I also agree that when the word math is being talked about money is one of the major concerns. Math plays an important role in our society.
ReplyDeleteI'm just wondering, why is it that most comments here has the word 'dizzying' in it? Just how much do you like the word? Just how much dizzy are you? Anyway, kidding aside.... I like how you can be at most, frank about math and how it is related to things :)
ReplyDeleteIt really shows how Math is really important especially in terms of business and in our course. I used to hate math when i was still a child but it kind a easy din pala.hehe :]
ReplyDelete"Back when I was in 4th grade I used to add our telephone numbers with my classmate's numbers on my cute calculator" I remember doing this too, when i was in grade school. We sure did miss math!
